Lapsang Souchong Tea
£3.50
Description
Lapsang Souchong Tea, also known as Li Shan Xiao Zhong, is an organic black tea that lightly smoked over pine. The result is a pronounced smoky aroma. The taste achieves a fine balance between smoky, spicy flavours and mineral, sweet notes with a tangy and clean aftertaste.
Invented in the Fujian province, in south-east China, the Lapsang Souchong tea recipe dates back to the 18th century. Phonetically translated from a Chinese word, Lapsang Souchong means “small leaves from the original mountain”. It was the first black tea in China, which until then only produced green tea.
